DESCRIPTION:“Heavenly Traditions and Holy Matrimony: Weddings Through Time\,” is an exhibit that will take you through decades of wedding dress styles\, and traditions. This exhibit will show how one of the most sacred events for a couple has changed through decades and even centuries. Various influences and societal changes are at the heart of the traditions and events that hold weddings today. Come view items from the 19th century through the 20th century\, that represent different eras and how we have ended up with the weddings that we know today. DESCRIPTION:Bring the kids by the Holland Land Office Museum for our new History Storytime for Summer 2024. On Saturday\, July 27th at 11 am Joyce Thompson-Hovey will be sharing life in the “Early Schools of the 1800s.” It covers not only the role of the student and teachers during this period but also what school was like both in the North and the South. There is lots of class participation because we run it like a typical school day back then. Admission is $5 or $3 or museum members.
